How to Influence
I am sure you will agree with me that the most successful people you know have always had the power to persuade. The better you master how to influence others, the greater your chance of success.
But, to become a Million Dollar Influencer be aware that you do not just want a mentor who simply provides you with a list of outdated ideas.
Be wary of articles, blog posts and business books written by academics, professors, accountants, lawyers and hot shot consultants from major consulting firms, all spouting theories. It’s best to take advice from those who are doing it today and passionate about spreading their advice.
I publicly speak a lot, often on programs with many other speakers, and I always warn my audiences about the many speakers who “sell only their memories and their achievements from many moons ago”.Listen, I live and work every day where you do – in the real world, where it is changing every day. I have actual real, current-world and hands-on experience. I only promote what I always use personally for my business or my clients, and ensure it has been repetitively validated in today’s market.
Remember all the World’s a Stage as William Shakespeare once wrote.
If you have something to say whether it is through a blog, a seminar, a book, a song, a screenplay, or even a speech or sermon— you are on stage. If you have something to sell — whether one-on-one, before a huge crowd, or on the Internet —— you are also on stage. But the stage has never been more coveted — and simply being on it doesn’t matter much if the lights are not shining on you, or if there is no one listening or in the audience.
To be a person of influence you will need to attract an audience, turn on the spot and special effects lighting, and build passionate loyalty so that your audience stays with you through every line, every scene, every act. This is not about ego nor being the center of attention. It is about having something of value to others and finding the most powerful way of getting that message to others who can benefit from it. If you are an aspiring (or already successful) author, artist, musician, public speaker, salesperson, candidate for public office or anyone who has something to say or sell— I want to help you take the stage and get noticed beyond your wildest dreams.
