We all get wrapped up in our own importance, particularly at work if we have a position of some authority. Over the years it has been my role to keep people and start up organisations on track, this is not all that easy when you have less staff than the work required to be done, but never the less the secret is to keep folk focused on the stuff that matters and in time, scale begins to evolve.
The most crucial role to keep focused is the CEO, General Manager, Managing Director or Business Owner (no matter the title); I mean the head honcho!! What is their role?
Just 3 things:
- Sets the overall vision and strategy and communicates it to all stakeholders.
- Recruits, hires and retains the very best talent for the company.
- Makes sure there is always enough cash in the bank.
